Residents at the K2 Housing Estate in Windsor were offered free photography lessons with a grant from the Port Phillip Council organized by The Port Phillip Community Group Residents.

I was employed to be the photography teacher at the estate each Saturday for eight weeks. Teaching people, some with disabilities while others knew little or no English, meant I had to change my approach to teaching photography. We didn’t talk much about aperture and shutter speed. Instead students learnt how to use their camera, how to approach a subject, lighting and composition. We also did a clay animation. The facilitator, Tullia Gilarry organized  cameras to be used by the students. Here are the results.
